Cadence's Heartwood Acres Senior Photo Session || Pittsburgh|| Fort Cherry Senior
Senior season has officially begun, and what a way to start us off! Cadence sent me a Pinterest board of what she was looking for, and we decided to do her senior session at Heartwood Acres. She was looking for a location with architecture and texture, and Heartwood is just the place for that. I love this location because every few steps, you have a completely different background.
I was shocked at how empty the park was for a Sunday afternoon in August, but I wasn't going to complain either! We were able to go all over the park, and we started with her most casual outfit. (Be sure to click open the images to see the full versions.)
We moved around to the back of the building, and again, there were very few people to work around! The longer we were there, the closer to golden hour we got and the goo-ier the light got. I love late summer light! August-October is my absolute favorite time of year to shoot photos.
I usually tell clients to estimate about 30 minutes per outfit, and we were right on par with wrapping up this first outfit. Heartwood Acres does have restrooms to change in, making it so convenient to change and do a hair/makeup touchup. Cadence changed into her second outfit and we kept on moving around the building.
When I see what outfits seniors bring, I try to match them to the environment as best as I can. You'll see that as the outfits/color palettes change, I gravitate toward different areas of the property.
I think this dress is so cute! The bow detail going down the back matches the bows on the back of her shoes and allows for some fun dimension in the photos. We used the back half of the building and then it was time to change again. I'm loving the trend of bringing white dresses to your senior session. It's timeless and will match any location.
I think the photos in this white dress are my favorite from this session! I am glad that I am not the one choosing my yearbook photo from this album--over 170 edited images to choose from. I'm not sure how anyone picks!
We moved into the final outfit of the session and moved locations in the park for something different to round out the album. Again, how cute is this outfit? A masterclass in choosing what to bring to your session! And notice, there are no props. They're always welcome, but never needed. All we need is you!
