A summer evening family photoshoot at Heartwood Acres in Pittsburgh, PA
If you've been around for a while, you've definitely seen Alia and Austin posted to my socials! They are among the clients that I've been working with the longest, and it has been so fun to watch their family grow over the years. We met up on a weeknight this August at Heartwood Acres Mansion to do some updated family photos!
Something else exciting is happening this month for these guys...their wedding day! In just a matter of days, I'll be back posting their wedding photos. We did their engagement session two years ago at Robin Hill Park in Moon, PA. I'll post a few of these at the bottom of this post.
We started shooting at the beginning of golden hour (also when everyone else in Pittsburgh thought it would be a good time--what a crowded day at the park) and the light only got better. Parker started to wake up a little bit from the car ride and we were able to grab a few smiles!
My husband tagged along on this shoot and was running Parker's toy on my head and waving sticks around trying to get a few laughs. Nothing worked that well until we walked under a tree and Parker was able to hit some leaves. Jackpot!
I love the way the mansion is in the background in those photos. Heartwood Acres is such a pretty spot for photos: take a few steps in any direction and you have a completely different background to work with. It makes for a really dynamic final album. Next, we moved into the field and got some stunning shots as the sun started to move behind the trees.
The sun was in the perfect spot to wrap the shoot up in the flower garden, so we walked back up the hill and found it empty! What perfect timing to grab some photos as the sun was directly behind them. These might be my favorite images from the day.
August is absolutely flying by, and it will be their wedding day in just a blink of the eye! I'm adding a few images now from their engagement session a few years ago. (They also took their pregnancy announcement photos at this session! I feel so lucky to have gotten to see their entire story unfold.)
